Comments ReceivedThanks for the CDs too - I listened to a bit of each track last night and then listened properly to it this morning. Do you know, I like every single song? Amazing. 'I don't care' cracks me up - where do you get those lyrics Dave? and I love the rocky ones too. I like the thoughtful songs like 'Restore' and 'Shine for you', though I think my favourite is still 'You Are Mine' and that's not just cos I'm playing on it - the words are very appropriate just now. So I reckon this is definitely your best album, and that makes it all worth while. Well done that man! Teresa Brown, devinemusic.org.ukDave, we love your CD. I don't know if I told you that Rob is really struggling as his last bit of eye sight is going, especially doing the website. He is having to rely totally on his talk program now and is feeling really low. Then just now I popped your newly arrived CD on while we munched our Weetabix and the first song was both of our baptism song, then came that verse again: "Restore to me the joy of your salvation!" Thanks Dave, God has really spoken through you... again! Blessings. Catherine Davis.I wish to thank you again for a wonderful weekend- people are still talking about the concert and your message on Sunday - a real blessing. Stephen Fowler, pastor, Elim in Wells, Somerset.Anyone who's been touched by Dave & Sue Clemo's ministry over the last few years will know he is an anointed worship leader. Tony Cummings, Cross Rhythms Magazine.Dave Clemo's passion for all aspects of Christian music is exemplary- he keeps a faith ministry on the road with unstinting commitment, and campaigns tirelessly for broadcasting and other music- related issues. Peter Dilley, The Christian Herald. We listened to 'Shine for You'. Thanks you so much! We were both smiling at your excellent 'Amazing Grace' cover and we loved it that you stuck to your guns with regard to style as well as putting in a few surprises too. Good Job! Jayne & Rob, Corby. There are two sorts of old fashioned... One is the classic variety, where old fashioned manages to reach around the initial perception it creates and manages to be relevant anyway... and then there's the old fashioned that doesn't. 'Shine For You' manages both. First and foremost the CD cover and text are old fashioned and unwieldy, pixelated image followed by lens flare accompanied by text that fights the image it sits uncomfortably upon. But this is about the music, right? Well that's where things pick up. Dave's strength is in song writing and that comes across perfectly in the tracks on offer. There's a message of humility on offer in 'Feet Of Clay' and 'Reputation None', 'Love God, Hate Sin' manages a cheerful tub thumping air with a simple message in a chorus that you'll find yourself humming before long. Opening track 'Amazing Grace' will likely split listeners into love it/not keen camps and is less indicative of the songs that follow than either might expect. All in all a solid outing and well worth a listen, particularly if you've enjoyed previous CDs from the Kettering journeyman Paul Kercal, Cross Rhythms Direct. Thanks again Dave for the best night out in Rushden for years! May I say that you have a gospel sensitivity for your audience, commitment to musical excellence with pure entertainment value. Your testimony is a brave call to the 'whosoever will' look and live in Jesus. No mistake. Andy Major, Rushden.Just a word of thanks for the superb concert that you and your friends put on recently at the Athletic Club. Thank you for including my favourite from the new CD and I know Rossy was pleased that you did 'Going Back' (she loves your version) and also 'Truck Stop' which is a great opener. I hope you all enjoyed performing as much as we enjoyed being performed at. Well done everybody. Roy Smith, Kettering. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for your ministry last weekend. It was great to have you with us and also to enjoy fellowship. You have a wonderful heart and such a servant attitude. You are prepared to travel, minister and serve wherever without thought of financial reward or personal praise. You have such a great gift and ministry and our Lord desires to increase that tenfold. Rev Jimmy James, Aldershot Elim Pentecostal (Community Church).I’ve known ex-patriate Cornishman Dave Clemo for about 10 years, and in that time he’s embraced a number of musical styles. For a long time he was known as The Kettering Cowboy, due to his preference for country music, but in his time he’s been a Sixties popster, a rock 'n' roll revivalist, and a praise & worship leader, as well as retaining a toehold in country music. This latest release, which is by my reckoning his eighth since his debut in 1993, has elements of all of those styles, and apart from the opening sing-a-long hoe-down version of 'Amazing Grace', it’s all his own work, in songwriting, production and arrangements. So 'Jesus Is My Rock' has a Bo Diddley beat, 'Reputation None' is country blues-rock in a minor key, and ‘Love God, Hate Sin’ is (in Dave’s own words) "a bit of a rant", with horns and twangy guitars. Not that this is all uptempo stuff; 'You Are Mine' is easy listening pop music with a gentle beat to go with the poetry of the lyrics. At times Dave’s voice betrays the passage of anno domini by being a tad wobbly and a little off key, but I still think that this is an enjoyable listen, and that Dave’s Servant Heart Ministries is an organisation worthy of your support. 7/10. Trevor Kirk, CCMI can honestly say that I like every single song on this album. It’s real happy music with a gospel message, arranged in a variety of styles and performed with enthusiasm and sincerity. The rocky numbers like 'Love God, hate sin' and 'Amazing Grace', and the jazzy 'I don’t care', with lyrics that make me laugh every time, contrast well with more thoughtful numbers like 'Restore', 'Shine For You' and my favourite track 'You are mine'. A lot of care has gone into the arrangements and recording of these songs; they are well produced, and all delivered in Dave’s unmistakable style, making this his best album yet.
